One would usually regard the Midwest as pretty much being on the fringes of the movie industry. But consider this: Orson Welles was born in Wisconsin, Fred Astaire, Marlon Brando, Henry Fonda, Robert Taylor, Dorothy McGuire, and Montgomery Clift are from Nebraska. And John Wayne-- he was born In Iowa. Recent iconic movie personalities include the Cohen brothers from Minneapolis. The Midwest is also home to some famous movies locations. North by Northwest, Fargo, Dances with Wolves, and Field of Dreams are a few.
Spencer Tracy (April 5, 1900 – June 10, 1967) was a two-time Academy Award-winning American film and stage actor who appeared in 74 films from 1930 to 1967. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
