True Minnesota fishermen know that Pine River is a fisherman’s delight!  Here you can fish for walleye and norther pike which begins in mid-May with the large and small mouth bass beginning just a few weeks later.  If you are a Muskie fisherman then the beginning of June is the time you will want to visit the community and test out the waters of the numerous lakes that are in the area.  Pan fish and perch are legal to catch all year long so don’t miss out on this delicacy!

If you are not familiar with the lakes and want to hire a guide there are many available to take you out for a half or whole day of enjoyment and success.  Lakes in the area include: Ada, Boot, Clam, Hattie, Horseshoe, Jail, Lizzie, Norway, Swede, Woman, Leech and Winnie and Whitefish.  With this many lakes available for your enjoyment you will certainly not only catch the fish you want but will enjoy nature with your family when you aren’t on the lake.

While you are in town you may want to get your picture taken standing beside Paul Bunyan’s Baby Boots or sitting on the back of “Babe the Green Recycling Ox.”  This unique addition to the area exhibits green and sustainable living themes with all kind of different promotions showcasing locally grown fruits and vegetables along with other green information.  This is located at the Pine River Information Center.
