Crandall South Dakota Population 6
The state of South Dakota gave birth to the town of Crandall in 1906. The railroad was the reason for the start,Texas cattle needed a track to western South Dakota for Summer grazing.
Crandall was the point the M and St.L railroad headed west. Today Hwy 20 pretty much follows that route to Akaska close to the Missouri River. You can't gas up in Crandall any more if you wanted to follow this route, but we can cool you down with some Blue Bunny Ice Cream for the journey ahead.

Onaka was settled by German migrants in 1882. After the railroad pulled out in the 50's Onaka began to slide into oblivion but it is still there with a ZIP CODE! 2008 population is 16.
